Job summary

The Florida Department of Corrections is hiring a Human Resource Specialist/HR-SES to oversee Worker’s Compensation administration, payroll and benefits, team leadership, onboarding, and reporting to ensure accuracy and compliance across the department. This is an on-site role located in Tallahassee.

Requirements include a High School Diploma and at least two years of HR experience; preferred 1–2 years in Worker’s Compensation.

Qualifications

• Must possess a High School Diploma or its equivalent.
• Must possess at least two (2) years of professional human resources/personnel experience.

Responsibilities

• Serves as primary contact for Worker’s Compensation issues and payroll transactions.
• Leads and supervises a HR team and prepares reports for management.
• Manages payroll and benefits processing, including leave auditing and WC cases.
• Conducts onboarding and training for new employees and collects required documents.
• Uses departmental systems to compile data and generate reports and stay current in HR practices.
