Job summary

Sioux Falls School District is seeking a Specialist in the Human Resources Department to handle onboarding, records, and volunteer coordination. This role involves processing background checks, supporting substitute staff coordination, and preparing confidential communications.

Hours are 8:00 am–5:00 pm, Monday to Friday, 1.0 FTE, 40 hours weekly, 12 months. Starting pay is $23.62 per hour for Specialist - Level KX, with benefits for eligible positions.

Qualifications

• Two years of post-secondary education or related experience.
• Experience onboarding, staffing, data tracking, and information systems.
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a point of contact for employees and visitors in HR; handle calls and emails.
• Facilitate background checks and maintain related records for staff and volunteers.
• Coordinate the district's volunteer program and train clerical staff.
• Support substitute staff coordination and cross-train in the role.
• Prepare confidential written communications and assist with HR projects.
