Job summary

Sioux Falls School District is seeking a Human Resources Specialist at the Instructional Planning Center in Sioux Falls, SD. This 1.0 FTE position supports onboarding, staffing, and HR data processes, with responsibilities across volunteer programs, employee testing, and HR systems.

The role requires 2 years of post-secondary education (or related experience), strong communication skills, and the ability to handle confidential information.

Qualifications

• Two years of post-secondary education. District may consider related experience in lieu of education.
• One to three years of HR experience in onboarding, staffing, effective communication, data tracking, and information systems.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience working with confidential information. Must be technologically advanced in HRMS, word processing, and spreadsheets.

Responsibilities

• Serves as a point of contact for employees or visitors to the Human Resources Department, provides assistance and information.
• Facilitates the criminal background check process and required recordkeeping for employees, volunteers, and contracted service providers.
• Main contact for the District’s volunteer program and conducts training for clerical staff.
• Provides support to the substitute staff coordinator and is cross-trained in the role.
• Creates and disseminates confidential written communication to employees and applicants.
• Provides administrative support to the Senior Director of Human Resources.
