Job summary

Syracuse University is seeking an HR Shared Services Representative to deliver first-line customer service across HR topics. You will respond to inquiries, escalate issues, and provide transactional and system support to HR partners and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent experience considered.
• 1–2 years' experience in Human Resources is preferred.
• Specialized knowledge in Benefits, HRIS or Compensation is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review, verify and enter or upload data to the HRIS.
• Prepare and review position, compensation, and employment information submitted by departments and process related transactions.
• Process changes to health benefits, retirement contributions, and tuition.
• Provide direct customer service to all current, prospective, retired & terminated employees by responding to inquiries.
• Provide accurate, reliable and timely responses to HR Shared Service Center emails, phone calls and walk-in requests.
• Distribute action items as needed and elevate complex issues to HR Advisors or Manager.
• Provide benefit administration support: orientation, changes via HRIS/vendor portals, respond to questions, document changes.
• Review and monitor reporting and processing of benefit plans for compliance and eligibility.
• Audit data for federal and legal compliance and university policies.
• Seek continuous process improvements utilizing HR tools and knowledge.
• Demonstrate HR systems and workflow analysis leading to improvements.
• Participate and lead special project work for HR.
