Job summary

Ameriprise Financial is seeking an experienced HR Project Manager to lead the end-to-end execution of strategic HR initiatives, collaborating with HR, technology and business partners to deliver complex projects on time and with high quality.

The role requires hands-on leadership, managing workstreams, dependencies and risks, and driving initiatives across Talent Acquisition, Talent Management, Compensation, Benefits and Employee Experience to achieve measurable outcomes.

Qualifications

• 5–7 years of experience leading medium to large-scale projects in HR
• Experience with HR process improvements and HR technology implementations
• Ability to influence without authority and manage ambiguity
• Strong project planning, risk management, and stakeholder communications
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience

Responsibilities

• Lead the end-to-end execution of strategic Human Resources initiatives, including planning, stakeholder alignment, implementation, testing, deployment, and post-implementation support
• Partner with HR leaders, Centers of Excellence, HR Business Partners, HR Operations, Technology teams, and vendors to define objectives and delivery plans
• Drive execution across multiple workstreams, manage dependencies, and proactively identify risks
• Facilitate project meetings, working sessions, and decision-making forums with accountability for commitments
• Develop and maintain detailed project plans, timelines, milestones, and status reporting
• Lead HR technology implementations, operating model changes, and employee experience initiatives
• Coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure delivery of project objectives and business outcomes
• Manage communications with sponsors and stakeholders, providing progress and risk visibility
• Identify change impacts and support organizational readiness, training, and communications
• Monitor financials, scope changes, risks, issues, and decisions with alignment to priorities
• Establish and track project success metrics and realized benefits
• Identify opportunities to improve HR Project Office processes and team experiences
