Texas Department of Transportation is seeking an HR Business Services Specialist to provide technical and operational support within the HR Programs Section of the Human Resources Division. The role emphasizes information management, procurement coordination, and intranet content publishing.

The position requires strong organizational skills, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to work onsite in Austin, TX with a 40-hour week.

Qualifications

• 1 year business operations, communications, informational, or related experience.
• Related graduate level education may be substituted for experience on a year per year basis.

Responsibilities

• Maintains and updates HR Programs Section job aids, presentations, and materials on a quarterly basis.
• Coordinates records retention activities in compliance with Texas laws and Department policies.
• Manages division assets, including surplus property disposition, asset transfers, and annual inventory reviews.
• Coordinates the division's purchase process with vendors and Procurement Division to ensure invoicing and PO requirements.
• Publishes and maintains the division's Intranet main page and subsites content, including accessibility requirements.
• Performs office support and IT-related tasks, including ticket submission for malfunctioning hardware and communication tools.
• Attends mandatory meetings and completes training within established timeframes.
• Coordinates travel services in accordance with state laws and Department rules and assists with expense reports.
