Job summary

WVUH West Virginia University Hospitals is seeking a qualified HR Support Specialist to provide essential HR services across unemployment processing, employee orientation, and compliance initiatives.

The role includes coordinating new leader and new employee orientations, maintaining accurate HR records, and supporting performance management and data reporting. Daily work includes scheduling, meetings, and ensuring confidentiality in a high-volume office environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Industrial Relations, or related field.
• Associate’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field and two (2) years of HR support experience.
• High School diploma and five (5) years of HR support experience.

Responsibilities

• Support the processing and tracking unemployment claims.
• Coordinate and resolve general inquiries for Employee Relations & HR Business Partner.
• Support scheduling of organizational and training sessions and attendance tracking in Workday.
• Organize and coordinate New Leader Orientation including logistics and attendance in Workday.
• Contribute to updates of New Employee Orientation and Follow-up Orientation materials.
• Facilitate presentations and trainings as needed.
• Coordinate regulatory compliance tasks including WV Cares and PA fingerprinting requirements.
• Ensure HR practices comply with changes in labor laws and regulations.
• Assist with HR system initiatives and special projects.
• Assist with investigatory interviews and handling routine employee inquiries and issues.
• Maintain accurate employee records and ensure compliance with policies and laws.
• Assist in performance management processes and coaching for managers and employees.
• Compile and analyze HR data for reporting and identify trends.
• Support department leaders with scheduling, calendar management, and organizational duties.
• Serve as department time administrator; order supplies; reconcile credit card accounts; process invoices.
• Participate in employee engagement initiatives and events.
