Job summary

The Watts College of Public Service & Community Solutions at Arizona State University, Downtown Phoenix campus, seeks a confident HR professional to join the College Business Services - Human Resources team. You will handle recruiting, onboarding, payroll, and routine personnel transactions under the Associate Director.

You will be the main contact for new hires and staff, processing a large volume of HR transactions while ensuring compliance with university policies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and three years of experience in HR or related field, or an equivalent combination of experience and training.
• Experience with payroll processing, onboarding, and personnel transactions preferred.
• Demonstrated knowledge of HR practices, regulations and standards.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate HR activities with college administration and central OHR to ensure adherence with policies and regulations.
• Investigate payroll discrepancies and liaise with HR to resolve.
• Perform timekeeping duties to ensure accurate recording of time and absences.
• Conduct bi-weekly payroll reconciliations and prepare audit documents.
• Maintain personnel files and support onboarding for staff and students.
• Process faculty and staff changes and payments in Workday; draft relevant letters and documentation.
• Serve as main contact for graduate student hiring each semester and academic year.
• Assist with employee relations matters in coordination with leadership.
