Job summary

Equity Methods seeks an experienced HR professional to own and execute core HR operations for 160+ professionals across multiple states. You will manage payroll, benefits, onboarding, offboarding, and policy documentation with a focus on accuracy and regulatory compliance.

This role reports to the CFO, collaborates with leadership and external counsel, and requires hands-on execution and strong project management in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive HR experience, including 2+ years as an HR manager.
• Strong knowledge of federal and state employment laws; California experience required.
• Experience with payroll, benefits, and workers’ compensation administration.
• Experience coordinating performance reviews and annual open enrollment.
• Proficiency with HRIS and data reporting.
• Excellent communication and project management skills.

Responsibilities

• Own day-to-day HR operations including payroll, benefits, onboarding, and offboarding across all states.
• Manage multi-state compliance posture and reporting; flag issues to CFO and legal counsel.
• Oversee benefits administration and annual open enrollment logistics.
• Maintain the employee handbook and HR policy documentation across jurisdictions.
• Administer HRIS system; maintain data quality and generate reports.
• Collaborate with CFO and external counsel on compliance matters and risk.
• Track HR metrics such as turnover, engagement, and performance trends.
• Coordinate mandatory training programs and onboarding logistics.
