Job summary

CrewAI is seeking an HR Operations Manager to own the systems, processes, and policies that hire, pay, support, and grow our people. You’ll build scalable HR infrastructure—from HRIS to onboarding and payroll—while working with leadership, finance, and legal in a fast-growing, distributed team.

You’ll design and implement compliant processes, partner with Finance on payroll and benefits, and turn HR data into actionable insights for leadership.

Qualifications

• 4+ years in HR operations, preferably at a fast-growing startup.
• Hands-on HRIS ownership (Rippling, Gusto, BambooHR, Workday, or similar) plus payroll and benefits.
• Working knowledge of U.S. employment law and multi-state compliance.
• Bias toward building scalable systems and strong written/verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end HR operations: HRIS admin, employee records, payroll coordination, and benefits across a distributed, global workforce.
• Design onboarding and offboarding programs that give new hires a great first 30 days and departing employees a clean, compliant exit.
• Build and maintain HR policies, employee handbook content, and leave-of-absence processes that are clear, current, and actually followed.
• Keep CrewAI compliant with federal, state, and local employment law as we scale — translating requirements into practical processes.
• Partner with Finance on payroll accuracy, benefits invoicing, and headcount reporting; partner with hiring managers to keep the lifecycle fast and frictionless.
• Turn people data into signal: build reporting on headcount, attrition, time-to-onboard, benefits utilization.
• Find and fix manual, error-prone parts of HR ops through better process, tooling, or automation.
