Job summary

Ro is seeking a Senior Director, People Operations to lead and scale the systems, programs, and operational infrastructure powering an outstanding employee experience. You will oversee HR systems, analytics, benefits, leave administration, compliance, and lifecycle operations while partnering across People, Finance, IT, Legal, and the broader business.

Qualifications

• 10–15+ years in People Operations, HR Operations, or related functions with leadership in high-growth environments.
• Deep expertise in HR systems, people analytics, workforce reporting, automation, and process design.
• Experience scaling People infrastructure and service delivery in tech-driven organizations.
• Demonstrated ability to apply AI, automation, and emerging technologies to improve efficiency.
• Strong knowledge of benefits administration, leave management, and multi-state HR compliance.

Responsibilities

• Set the strategy and vision for People Operations, including HR systems, people analytics, workforce insights, and benefits administration.
• Build and evolve analytics capabilities, dashboards, and decision-support tools for leadership.
• Own and optimize People systems and workflows for scalability and data integrity.
• Develop scalable People processes and service delivery models across the organization.
• Improve efficiency and employee experience through automation, AI-enabled workflows, and process improvements.
• Embed AI and emerging tech into People Operations workflows to enhance scalability and service quality.
• Partner with Finance, IT, Legal, and People to support workforce planning, compensation operations, and health metrics.
• Oversee benefits and leave administration, ensuring compliance with federal/state/local regulations.
• Ensure governance and controls across People systems and data management practices.
• Lead and modernize employee support operations with self-service and knowledge management.
• Drive lifecycle excellence from onboarding to internal mobility and offboarding.
• Apply product management and service design to employee programs and workflows.
