Job summary

Cohere is seeking a People Systems and Automation Manager to design, streamline, and automate our HR processes across the employee lifecycle. You will lead the implementation work with Rippling, Slack, Notion, and other tools, reducing manual steps and increasing consistency.

You will own end-to-end lifecycle operations, from onboarding to offboarding, and partner with IT, Finance, and Payroll to close gaps. This is a hands-on role at scale, with significant impact on our growing organization.

Qualifications

• Experience building People Ops/HR systems at a fast-growing company.
• HRIS implementation or migration experience.
• Experience building workflows and automations in HR systems or adjacent tooling.
• Ability to work with triggers, conditions, integrations and failure modes.
• Strong documentation and written communication skills.
• Experience across multiple countries and entities, including EOR or contractor populations.

Responsibilities

• Map how People processes actually work today and redesign before automation.
• Build workflows and automations across the HRIS and related tooling.
• Own end-to-end employee lifecycle: joiners, movers, leavers; reduce manual work.
• Document processes with SOPs and runbooks; ensure maintainability.
