Riverside Health System in Newport News, Virginia seeks an HR Specialist I to provide basic HR support across the employee lifecycle. You will handle pre-employment tasks, onboarding, candidate records in Workday, and help ensure a smooth onboarding experience.

The role collaborates with internal partners on job descriptions, maintains communication with new hires, and supports Tier I HR transactions. A high school diploma is required; a bachelor’s in HR is preferred, and one year of HR

• Education: High School Diploma or GED (Required)
• Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or Related Field (Preferred)
• 1 year HR or relevant experience (Required)
• PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP/SCP (Preferred)

• Ensures completion of new hire pre-employment tasks, including background checks, secondary checks, screenings and other requirements.
• Coordinates onboarding process such as scheduling events with Employee Health.
• Accurately manages candidate profiles in Workday.
• Provides support and consistent communication for new hire processes.
