Job summary

ECPI University is seeking an HR Assistant to serve as the first point of contact for employees and managers, delivering Tier 1 support for a wide range of HR inquiries. The role supports hiring, onboarding, background checks, I-9 verification, and maintains HRIS data with confidentiality.

Qualifications include an Associate's or Bachelor’s degree in HR and 1–3 years of HR support experience, preferably in a shared services environment. This on-site role is based at the Virginia Beach campus.

• 1-3 years of HR support experience, preferably in a shared services environment.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the first point of contact for employee and manager HR inquiries, providing Tier 1 support.
• Provide guidance on basic HR policies, procedures, and programs.
• Support full-cycle hiring and onboarding processes, including coordinating pre-employment activities and new hire orientation.
• Initiate and track background checks and pre-employment requirements.
• Complete Form I-9 verification and ensure compliance with employment eligibility requirements.
• Maintain and update employee records in the HRIS, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality of data.
• Assist with employee data audits and ensure compliance with recordkeeping standards.
• Submit required new hire reporting in compliance with government regulations.
• Provide administrative support for HR programs and initiatives, including assisting with ongoing HR projects.
• Collaborate with internal HR team members to ensure seamless service delivery within a shared services model.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes, documentation, and employee experience at the Tier 1 level.
• Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
