Job summary

The J.M. Smucker Co. is hiring an HR Coordinator / Labor Scheduler at our Buffalo Milk-Bone facility.

This full-time, non-exempt role blends Human Resources and labor scheduling, partnering with employees, union leadership, and plant management to ensure a positive employee experience and efficient workforce operations. You will build labor schedules from production plans, coordinate overtime and bidding processes, manage training records, onboarding, and attendance, and report workforce metrics

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 3+ years of HR, labor scheduling, or workforce coordination experience.
• Strong MS Office skills.
• Experience in a manufacturing or unionized setting is a plus.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Create labor schedules based on production needs and staffing requirements.
• Schedule employees weekly based on qualifications and availability.
• Coordinate overtime sign-ups and layoffs.
• Partner with leaders to adjust staffing for changing production demands.
• Provide labor and workforce reports to HR and Payroll.
• Coordinate hourly management and union training meetings.
• Manage training records, qualifications, and seniority.
• Support onboarding, unemployment claims, and HR projects.
• Serve as liaison between employees, union reps, and plant leadership.
