J.m. Smucker is seeking a Senior Operations Support Coordinator for our Orrville, OH plant.

This on‑site role partners with the Plant HR team to handle administrative and operational activities, including leave coordination, attendance, discipline, and hourly recruiting processes. You will assist and lead company events, support the SQMS program, and act as a back‑up for payroll as needed, while coordinating new hire orientation and plant tours.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent HR/payroll work experience.
• Demonstrates diplomacy, confidentiality, and discretion.
• Strong organizational skills, detail‑oriented, and able to multi‑task and meet deadlines.
• Able to excel in a team‑based environment and collaborate effectively.
• Willing to work flexible schedule including off‑shifts or weekends as needed.

Responsibilities

• Recruit entry‑level hourly employees: sourcing, screening, interviewing.
• Assist HR Manager with labor contract expectations: posting, bidding, disciplinary processes.
• Support SQMS activities with organizational pillars.
• Manage one‑time payment for employee safety equipment reimbursements.
• Coordinate plant leaves with corporate leaves department and manage status updates.
• Report finished cases, review yield variances, and catch abnormalities.
• Coordinate New Hire Orientation for hourly and salary employees.
• Lead Plant Tour scheduling and execution.
• Maintain stocked office supplies and ensure compliance with quality standards.
• Coordinate with outside vendors on scheduling, invoicing, and relationships.
• Handle multiple ad‑hoc projects for HR Manager.
