Job summary

Alstom is seeking a full-time onsite Human Resources Business Partner in Phoenix to support a new site launch and partner with leaders across Talent Acquisition, HR Operations, and organizational development.

You will analyze organizational capabilities, drive change programs, coach leaders on talent reviews, and ensure compliance with employment laws and the Collective Bargaining Agreement in a unionized environment. Join a global leader shaping mobility projects.

Qualifications

• Experience resolving complex employee relations issues and labor relations activities.
• Knowledge of HR and People Strategies and People Management.
• Experience in unionized environments.
• Familiarity with employment laws and regulations (FLSA, FMLA, ADAAA, Railway Labor Act).
• Certifications for HR Professionals (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP).
• Strong communication skills in English (spoken and written).

• Supporting change programs, organizational effectiveness, development, and fostering a high-performance culture, including bids and project support.
• Ensuring the right talent is in the right place by coaching leaders on talent-related tools and mobilizing high potentials.
• Supporting talent reviews, competency assessments, recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and succession planning.
• Leading mobilization for onboarding employees to a new site for a new contract/customer.
• Providing guidance on employment laws and regulations to ensure compliance.

Your future role

Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business (Talent Acquisition, HR Operations, Business Leaders), support leadership development initiatives, and much more."

We’ll look to you for:

• Analyzing current organizational capabilities to deliver the business strategy and identifying and acting on gaps versus required capabilities.
• Supporting change programs, organizational effectiveness, development, and fostering a high-performance culture, including bids and project support.
• Ensuring the right talent is in the right place at the right time by coaching leaders on talent-related tools, supporting talent reviews, and mobilizing high potentials.
• Supporting talent reviews, competency assessments, recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and succession planning.
• Acting as a lead for mobilizing a new site, collaborating with Talent Acquisition and HR Operations to effectively onboard employees to the site for a new contract/customer.
• Administering FLSA testing and reviewing qualifications with job descriptions for all positions.
• Partnering with Business Leaders to drive organizational effectiveness and employee engagement.
• Supporting leadership development initiatives to help build resilient and adaptable teams.
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with the company’s strategic objectives.
• Providing expert guidance on employment laws and regulations to ensure compliance.

• Provide guidance and support to the management team regarding operating in an unionized environment to ensure compliance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA).

• Experience or understanding of resolving complex employee relations issues and labor relations activities, including grievance handling and communication with union representatives
• Knowledge of HR and People Strategies, People Management, and experience in a unionized environment
• Familiarity with employment laws and regulations, including FLSA, FMLA, ADAAA, and Railway Labor Act (an asset)
• Certifications for Human Resources Professionals (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP)
• Strong communication skills in English (spoken and written)
• Ability to analyze organizational capabilities and identify gaps to support business strategy

• Experience in leadership development and fostering high-performance cultures
