Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • 3-5 years of progressive HR experience in a fast-paced or multi-site environment.
  • Strong knowledge of employee relations, performance management, recruiting, HRIS, and HR administration.
  • Working knowledge of federal and state employment laws and regulations.
  • Experience conducting workplace investigations and handling confidential employee matters.

Position Summary

The HR Generalist is responsible for providing comprehensive HR support across the employee lifecycle, including onboarding, employee relations, performance management, compliance, HRIS administration, leave, and offboarding.

This role serves as a trusted resource for employees and managers while ensuring HR policies and processes are applied consistently, fairly, and in alignment with company standards and applicable employment laws.

This is an on-site position, Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., requiring a strong in-person presence to provide timely HR support and assistance to employees and managers.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, proactive, discreet, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. This person should have strong judgment, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage sensitive employee matters with professionalism and confidentiality.

Key Responsibilities
Employee Relations & Performance Management
  • Serve as an HR resource for employees and managers regarding workplace concerns, policies, performance, attendance, conduct, and employee relations matters.
  • Partner with managers to address performance and conduct issues promptly and consistently.
  • Support investigations by gathering information, conducting interviews, reviewing documentation, and preparing investigation summaries.
  • Assist with coaching, written warnings, final warnings, performance improvement plans, and other corrective actions.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential documentation related to employee relations matters.
  • Escalate complex, sensitive, or high-risk matters to HR leadership as appropriate.
Onboarding New Hires
  • Support the recruiting process from requisition through offer and onboarding.
  • Support background checks, offer letters, and pre-employment requirements.
  • Coordinate onboarding activities and ensure new hires complete all required documentation.
  • Partner with hiring managers to ensure new employees have a successful start.
HRIS & Employee Records
  • Maintain accurate employee information and records in the HRIS.
  • Audit HRIS data regularly to identify and correct discrepancies.
  • Maintain confidential personnel files and ensure required documentation is properly retained.
  • Prepare HR reports related to headcount, turnover, attendance, and other workforce metrics.
Leave & ADA Administration
  • Support employees with questions regarding benefits, PTO, leave, and other HR programs.
  • Monitor and maintain accurate PTO and leave records.
  • Leave & ADA Expertise: Strong knowledge and experience managing FMLA, ADA accommodations, and other protected leave requirements.
  • Accommodation Management: Experienced in managing the ADA interactive process, evaluating accommodations, and ensuring compliance and proper documentation.
Compliance & Policies
  • Support compliance with applicable federal, state, and local employment laws and company policies.
  • Help maintain and communicate HR policies, procedures, and employee handbook updates.
  • Ensure required employment documentation is completed and maintained.
  • Assist with HR audits and compliance reviews.
  • Maintain awareness of changes in employment regulations and elevate potential compliance concerns to HR leadership.
Employee Engagement & Culture
  • Support employee engagement initiatives, recognition programs, wellness programs, and company events.
  • Assist with employee surveys and help identify opportunities to improve the employee experience.
  • Promote a positive, professional, and respectful workplace culture.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • 3-5 years of progressive HR experience, preferably in a fast-paced or multi-site environment.
  • Strong knowledge of employee relations, performance management, recruiting, HRIS, and HR administration.
  • Working knowledge of federal and state employment laws and regulations.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Strong judgment and ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and HRIS platforms; UKG experience is a plus.
  • SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification is a plus.
