Home Oil Company, Inc. is seeking an HR Generalist to join our Human Resources team.

This hands-on role supports employees and managers across corporate, retail, warehouse, and transportation operations, ensuring day-to-day HR functions run smoothly. Responsibilities include processing employee changes in Paycor, onboarding, maintaining records, handling employee relations, supporting evaluations, and assisting with HR communications and policy rollouts.

Qualifications

• Previous Human Resources experience, preferably in a Generalist or similar role.
• Working knowledge of employment practices and basic HR compliance.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent organization and attention to detail.
• Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information appropriately.
• Comfortable working independently while also being part of a team.
• Experience with an HRIS system; Paycor experience is a plus.
• Willingness to visit company locations as needed.
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field preferred; equivalent HR experience will also be considered.

Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day HR operations and serve as a resource for employees and managers.
• Process employee changes, transfers, promotions, terminations, and other updates in Paycor.
• Assist with onboarding and new-hire orientation.
• Maintain accurate employee records and HR documentation.
• Track required training, acknowledgements, and other compliance items.
• Assist with employee relations matters, documentation, and follow-up.
• Support performance evaluations and corrective action processes.
• Assist with HR communications, policy rollouts, and training.
• Provide backup support to other members of the HR team as needed.
• Help identify opportunities to improve HR processes and the employee experience.
