Job summary

Assist Services is hiring an HR Generalist in Pennsylvania to support recruitment, onboarding, and employee relations across the traffic, construction, and oil & gas sectors.

You will collaborate with HR Coordinators, manage job postings, conduct investigations, and ensure policy compliance while maintaining confidentiality. This role emphasizes multitasking, strong communication, and a professional approach to sensitive matters.

Qualifications

• 3-5+ years of experience in a Human Resources role is preferred.
• Knowledge of oil & gas industry and/or transportation sector is beneficial.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor’s or master’s degree preferred.
• Effective interpersonal skills with the ability to relate to management and employees.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to handle sensitive situations with professionalism and discretion.
• Positive attitude with empathy and flexibility.
• Computer / social media skills and posting on multiple job boards.
• Ability to multi-task, plan work activities proactively, and meet deadlines under pressure.
• Must have a valid Driver's License with clean driving record.
• Pass standard background check, work verification check, drug screen and fit-for-duty physical.

Responsibilities

• Work with HR Coordinators to project hiring needs and plan onboarding schedule.
• Participate in and/or lead team meetings with various departments/divisions.
• Support HR Coordinators with recruiting and onboarding entry level positions as needed.
• Support supervisors and managers with coaching, counseling and disciplinary actions; initiate investigations when needed.
• Administer and track leaves of absences.
• Create job descriptions and manage postings and recruitment of mid-senior level positions.
• Ensure company policies comply with federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
• Track and provide monthly, quarterly, and annual metrics to leadership.
• Support ACA, EEO reporting.
• Unemployment claims management: handle responses, documentation, appeals, hearings.
• Answer FAQs from applicants and employees.
• Maintain confidentiality of HR files and records.
• Manage employee benefits administration; open enrollment with HR Coordinators.
• Assist leadership with research projects and special projects.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
