Job summary

Hirsch Glass Corp seeks a hands-on Human Resources Manager for its Cranbury, NJ location. This single-person HR department handles payroll, recruiting, onboarding and offboarding, employee relations, benefits, policies, and compliance across multiple states.

You will oversee payroll in ADP Workforce Now, ensure multi-state compliance, lead full-cycle recruiting, onboarding, and HRIS updates, and serve as the primary HR resource for staff and managers.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years of hands‑on HR Generalist experience.
• ADP Workforce Now (WFN) experience required.
• Payroll processing experience required.
• Experience with recruiting, onboarding/offboarding, employee relations, workplace investigations, benefits, and workers’ compensation.
• Working knowledge of federal and multi‑state employment laws and HR compliance.
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize competing responsibilities, and maintain confidentiality.
• Experience working as a sole HR professional or in a small HR department preferred.
• SHRM-CP, PHR, or similar HR certification a plus.

Responsibilities

• Process payroll accurately and timely using ADP Workforce Now, including employee changes, deductions, new hires, and terminations.
• Ensure multi‑state compliance with applicable federal and state employment laws and regulations.
• Manage full‑cycle recruiting, including job postings, candidate screening, interviews, offers, and pre‑employment requirements.
• Manage employee onboarding and offboarding, including documentation, I‑9s, benefits enrollment, and HRIS updates.
• Serve as the primary HR resource for employees and managers.
• Manage employee relations matters, including performance concerns, corrective action, workplace conflicts, and time management.
• Conduct and document workplace investigations.
• Administer employee benefits, including enrollments, qualifying life events, open enrollment, and employee questions.
• Maintain HR policies, employee handbooks, personnel files, and required employment documentation.
• Manage leaves of absence and related documentation.
• Manage workers’ compensation claims, including reporting, documentation, carrier coordination, and return‑to‑work follow‑up.
• Maintain accurate employee information and HR records in ADP Workforce Now.
• Handle additional day‑to‑day HR responsibilities as needed.
