Job summary

Rio Grande, founded in 1944 and based in Albuquerque, NM, seeks an experienced HR Generalist to join our Human Resources team. This full-time, on-site role partners with leadership to support a broad range of HR functions, including employee relations, benefits, and compliance, while maintaining confidential information with professionalism.

You will guide HR policies, manage leave programs, conduct investigations, maintain records in ADP, and assist with onboarding and performance management.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive HR experience in a Generalist or broad-based role.
• Knowledge of HR disciplines including employee relations, benefits, leave administration, and employment practices.
• Familiarity with federal, state, and local employment laws/regulations.
• Experience with FMLA leaves, unemployment claims, and investigations.
• Strong analytical and data interpretation skills with HR metrics.

Responsibilities

• Partner with leadership and staff to support business objectives and workplace culture.
• Provide guidance on HR policies, procedures, and workplace matters.
• Assist with leave programs (FMLA and other leaves) and unemployment claims.
• Conduct workplace investigations and respond to EEOC concerns.
• Maintain accurate employee records and process status changes in ADP/HRMS.
• Assist with benefits enrollment and claims questions.
• Support performance management and policy interpretation across the organization.
• Identify process improvements to HR practices and efficiency.
• Assist with new hire orientation and onboarding.
