Pearl Harbor Aviation Museum is seeking an onsite Human Resources Generalist in Honolulu to administer core HR functions, support payroll and benefits, and partner with the HRO and leadership to ensure compliant processes.

You will manage employee records, open enrollment, onboarding, and recruitment activities while maintaining confidentiality and high service standards. The role emphasizes collaboration with museum leadership and compliance with Hawaiʻi requirements.

Qualifications

• Experience in HR administration, recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, payroll and/or performance management.
• Working knowledge of HR practices and federal and state employment requirements.
• Strong written and verbal communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.

Responsabilités

• Serve as the primary point of contact for employees and managers on HR policies and programs.
• Administer employee lifecycle transactions in the HRIS and maintain confidential personnel records.
• Maintain HR calendars, workflows, and documented procedures with the Museum Administrator & Payroll Specialist.
• Review payroll for completeness and accuracy before release.
• Verify HR changes and timekeeping records before processing deadlines.
• Be the first contact for employee questions related to HR changes affecting payroll and benefits.
• Administer benefits enrollments and changes, coordinate COBRA, and audit benefit records.
• Lead annual open enrollment from launch to completion and coordinate communications.
• Coordinate 401(k) deferrals and Safe Harbor matching with timely uploads.
• Coordinate payroll, benefits, HRIS, leave administration, and employee records with HRO and leadership.
• Support recruitment by posting positions, evaluating applicants, and scheduling interviews.
• Coordinate reference checks, offers, and post-offer background checks in compliance with law.
• Conduct new hire orientation including Form I-9 and onboarding with managers and HRO.
