Job summary

Chaminade University of Honolulu is seeking an HR Generalist to manage daily HR operations in a busy campus environment in Honolulu, HI. Qualifications include a bachelor’s degree and at least one year of HR Generalist experience; SHRM or HRCI certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Onboarding and off-boarding processes.
• Assist with hiring: interviewing, creating requisitions, onboarding; collaborate with managers.
• Conduct background checks and employee eligibility verifications.
• Implement new hire orientation and employee recognition programs.
• Administer compensation, benefits, open enrollment, and leave; manage performance and engagement initiatives.
• Handle inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors; escalate sensitive matters.
• Attend disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations as needed.
• Maintain the HRIS and run reports; assist with password resets and e-signatures.
• Develop and assist with employee events and recognition programs.
• Maintain compliance with employment laws and regulations and adapt policies.
