Job summary

Norwood Medical in Dayton, OH is seeking an HR Generalist to support hourly manufacturing operations. You will deliver hands-on HR services to frontline employees and supervisors, oversee onboarding, maintain records, and assist with payroll timing in a regulated medical device environment.

Responsibilities include being the primary HR contact for hourly staff, coordinating with recruiters, maintaining HR documentation, and ensuring compliance with employment laws and policies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in HR, Business, or related field; 3+ years HR experience, preferably supporting hourly manufacturing workforce.
• Knowledge of employment laws; experience with employee relations, leave administration, workers' compensation, timekeeping, and HR systems.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, organization, confidentiality, and judgment.
• Experience in a regulated manufacturing environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary HR contact for hourly employees and production group leaders addressing questions related to policies, attendance, performance, and general HR processes.
• Supports onboarding for all hourly manufacturing new hires and coordinates with recruiters.
• Maintain accurate employee records and HR documentation per regulatory requirements and company policies.
• Partner with operations leadership to address employee relations issues with HRBP support.
• Assist in leaves of absence, accommodations, and workers' compensation processes.
• Support timekeeping, payroll preparation, attendance tracking, and corrective action documentation.
• Coordinate and participate in employee engagement initiatives, culture-building activities, and recognition programs.
• Coordinate wellness initiatives and events.
• Assist in maintaining compliance with employment law, HR policies, training requirements, and audit needs.
• Support HR metrics tracking and identify trends to improve operational HR support.
