Job summary

Norwood Medical is seeking an on-site Human Resource Generalist to support day-to-day HR for hourly manufacturing roles in Dayton, OH. You will serve as the primary HR contact, handling policies, attendance, performance, onboarding, and record-keeping in a regulated medical device setting.

You’ll partner with operations leadership, assist with leaves and workers’ comp, support timekeeping and payroll prep, and drive engagement initiatives while ensuring compliant HR processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in HR/Business Administration or related field.
• Three+ years of progressive HR experience.
• Experience supporting an hourly workforce is preferred.
• Knowledge of employment laws and employee relations.

Responsibilities

Norwood Medical is seeking a Human Resource Generalist to deliver day-to-day HR support for its non-exempt hourly manufacturing operations in Dayton, OH (onsite). This role is built for hands-on, responsive HR service, with a focus on workforce needs, employee engagement and culture, and compliance within a regulated medical device environment.

What you’ll do

• Act as the primary HR contact for hourly employees and production group leaders for questions related to policies, attendance, performance, and general HR processes.
• Serve as the key liaison between the hiring manager and the recruiter for hourly manufacturing roles, ensuring timely communication on open positions.
• Support onboarding for all hourly manufacturing new hires.
• Maintain accurate employee records and HR documentation in alignment with regulatory requirements and company policy.
• Partner with operations leadership to address employee relations issues promptly and consistently, with support from the HR Business Partner.
• Support administration of leaves of absence, accommodations, and workers compensation processes.
• Assist with timekeeping, payroll preparation, attendance tracking, and corrective action documentation as needed.
• Coordinate and participate in employee engagement initiatives, culture-building activities, and recognition programs.
• Coordinate and manage wellness initiatives and events.
• Support compliance with employment law, HR policies, training requirements, and audit needs.
• Track HR metrics such as turnover, staffing levels, and onboarding effectiveness, and identify trends to improve operational HR support.

What you bring

• Typically requires a bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, plus three or more years of progressive HR experience.
• Preferably includes experience supporting an hourly manufacturing workforce.
• Working knowledge of employment laws and experience in employee relations, leave administration, accommodations, workers compensation, timekeeping, and HR systems.
• Demonstrates strong communication, problem-solving, organization, confidentiality, and judgment.
• Experience in a regulated manufacturing environment is preferred.
• May occasionally require hours outside of the standard day shift.
