Job summary

Habitat for Humanity of Seattle-King & Kittitas Counties is seeking a Human Resources Generalist to be a key partner in empowering our team and optimizing processes. This full-time role supports onboarding, inquiries, and employee relations for a diverse retail workforce in the Puget Sound area.

The position requires a bachelor’s degree in HR or related field and at least three years of HR generalist experience, with strong knowledge of labor laws and excellent communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.
• Minimum three (3) years increasingly responsible human resources generalist experience.
• Strong knowledge of HR practices, labor laws, and employment regulations.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships across teams.

Responsibilities

• Oversee onboarding for new hires to ensure a positive and thorough transition into the organization.
• Provide prompt support by responding to internal and external HR inquiries, redistributing calls, and directing correspondence to the relevant team members as needed.
• Serve as a point of contact for retail employees regarding HR-related questions and concerns.
• Support managers with performance reviews, providing tools and guidance for constructive feedback.
• Assist with the development and implementation of performance improvement plans, while proactively working to prevent the need for disciplinary actions through training and clear communication of expectations.
• Oversee all Retail employee relations issues in a fair, thorough, and timely manner in accordance with HR best practices, organizational policies, and employment laws and regulations.
• Support strategic initiatives that advance the Retail department’s mission and goals in partnership with the HR Manager and retail leadership.
• Oversee a smooth offboarding process, including final pay, benefits administration, and necessary documentation.
