Job summary

Catholic Charities Serving Central Washington is seeking an HR Generalist to support the HR department's daily operations, ensure compliance with employment laws, maintain records, and handle performance management and employee relations. The role includes an HR specialization alongside generalist duties.

The candidate will administer benefits, payroll-related activities, onboarding, and HR technology training, with a focus on confidentiality and data accuracy in a nonprofit setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma and professional HR certification (PHR or SHRM-CP), or associate’s degree in business, communications, or related field required
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field preferred
• 3 years’ experience in Human Resources required
• Experience working in a non-profit organization is highly desired
• Bilingual in English & Spanish strongly preferred

Responsibilities

• Administers federal and state employment related leave and ADA/FMLA compliance
• Maintains employee records and conducts audits for compliance
• Administers workers’ compensation processes and unemployment claims
• Supports performance management and employee relations investigations
• Onboards new employees and trains on HRIS/time systems
• Communicates HR information and supports organizational events
