The Salvation Army of Dane County seeks a Human Resources Generalist to support employees, build relationships, and advance our mission. You will serve as the local HR partner, ensuring policy compliance and guidance to supervisors and staff while coordinating with Divisional HR.

You will oversee recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, leaves, benefits communications, training, and records, with a focus on consistency, legal compliance, and service excellence.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in HR or related field.

Responsabilidades

• Oversees local HR functions and serves as a point of contact for policy questions and workplace concerns.
• Oversees recruitment and hiring processes, including coordination with Divisional HR for postings, interviews, and documentation.
• Ensures consistent onboarding for all new hires, including access to emails and systems, policy acknowledgments, etc.
• Advises supervisors on hiring practices, performance management, and employee relations issues.
• Coordinates with Divisional HR on escalated employee matters and investigations.
• Manages employee status changes including promotions, transfers, wage adjustments, and terminations.
• Assists with leaves of absence (FMLA and Personal leaves).
• Communicates benefits-related information and open enrollment with Divisional HR.
• Develops local HR procedures and training for managers to ensure compliance.
• Conducts exit interviews and shares findings with Divisional HR.
• Reports work-related injuries to Divisional HR as required.
• Develops and updates local job descriptions and organizational charts.
• Participates in strategic planning to align workforce with program goals and resources.
• Leads the local Staff Engagement Committee and plans recognition activities.
• Manages HR budgets for training and staffing needs.
• Maintains confidential personnel records.
