Job summary

Jerry.ai is seeking an experienced HR Ops professional to own multi-state compliance, policy drafting, and payroll/benefits escalations. You will drive the annual audit, refresh the employee handbook, and guide the HR Admin team through complex issues.

You’ll also shape how AI fits into HR ops, reducing busywork and enabling focus on judgment calls. This role offers impact across payroll, benefits, and compliance in a fast-growing, remote-first environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in any discipline.
• 2+ years of real, hands-on HR generalist experience with policy drafting and payroll.
• Genuine in-house, multi-state compliance experience.
• Comfortable in a small, high-intensity team handling payroll, benefits and compliance.
• Excited to build with AI and integrate AI into HR ops.

Responsibilities

• Own multi-state compliance: track changes, draft updates, ensure implementation across classifications and pay ranges.
• Lead annual compliance audit and handbook refresh within first 90 days.
• Handle escalated payroll, benefits, and leave questions with a seasoned hand.
• Review and unblock the work of Payroll and HR Administration team members.
• Rearchitect HR ops processes with an AI-native mindset and rethink how the function should work.
• Grow into ownership of day-to-day HR operations management over time.
