Job summary

Shelter Association of Washtenaw County in Ann Arbor, MI is seeking a Manager of Human Resources & Employee Relations to oversee HR administration, labor relations, benefits, and risk management. The role reports to the Executive Director and drives policies and programs across the organization.

The position requires a Bachelor's degree, SHRM certification, and 3–5 years HR leadership with union environment experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• 3–5 years’ HR management experience.
• 3 years’ labor relations experience in a union environment.
• SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP required.

Responsibilities

• In partnership with the Executive Director, develop department goals, objectives, and systems.
• Support ongoing labor-management relations and ensure compliance with bargaining agreements.
• Collaborate with management, union, and employees to improve relations, morale, productivity and retention.
• Align HR strategy with talent needs, recruiting, retention, and succession planning.
• Oversee recruitment, onboarding, and HR policies; administer benefits and leave programs.
