Job summary

Meijer Inc. is seeking an experienced Senior Employee Relations professional to advance leadership capabilities, ensure compliance, and drive effective employee performance management across its Michigan footprint.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or equivalent; Master’s or JD preferred.
• 7–8 years of Employee Relations or HR experience, including previous experience with union-free operations.
• Strong Employee Relations/Team Relations background with HR operations/delivery.
• Experience leading large-scale HR initiatives and project management with cross-functional collaboration.
• Experience conducting and managing complex/sensitive workplace complaints & investigations.

Responsibilities

• Drive positive team member relations across the footprint, ensuring compliance and values are upheld.
• Coordinate union-free initiatives and respond to union activity.
• Review employment practices, policies and procedures for effectiveness and compliance; implement improvements.
• Lead HR initiatives to improve leadership capabilities and performance management.
• Serve as a Team Relations expert providing guidance on complex issues such as policy interpretation and terminations.
• Lead investigations of high complexity and sensitivity with objective recommendations.
• Identify labor relations trends and collaborate with HR, legal, and business leaders on policy changes.
• Facilitate Team Relations trainings for HR generalists and leaders on engagement and case management.
• Effectively facilitate restructures, redeployments, and staffing within client groups.
• Maintain relationships with stakeholders to support HR strategies and business initiatives.
