Cooper Farms in St. Henry, OH is seeking an HR Business Partner to support all Human Resource functions within assigned departments.

You will build strong relationships with production managers and team members to ensure staffing, onboarding and employee relations align with company goals. Key duties include coordinating with the Corporate Recruitment team, conducting interviews, facilitating new hire orientation, addressing attendance and discipline, and educating employees on health insurance,

Qualifications

• Minimum two years' experience in Human Resources preferred.

Responsibilities

Cooper Farms is a family-owned farm and food company based in Northwest Ohio for over 85 years. Our St. Henry Harvesting plant in Mercer County, Ohio, prepares the turkeys for further processing and distribution. Cooper Farms is currently seeking a HR Business Partner to join our team in St. Henry.

The primary goal of this position is to support all Human Resource functions to the department/areas assigned.

SHIFT HOURS: Monday through Friday 1st shift

STARTING HOURLY RATE: Commensurate with experience

ADDITIONAL PAY: Monthly and year-end profit-sharing bonuses (dependent upon company performance)

Job Functions

• Build and maintain a strong relationship with production managers and team members. Serve as the point of contact for all team members in the responsible department(s).
• Work with HR Manager on staffing needs and maintain accurate staffing records.
• Maintain open communication with the Corporate Recruitment team in open positions as well as being a liaison with recruitment efforts.
  
• Complete the entry-level and skilled positions hiring process including interviewing, setting up job tour (if necessary), selection process, extending the offer, and communicating next steps with onboarding.
  
• Rotate as the facilitator in new hire orientation.
  
• Maintain a strong focus on retention over assigned areas with input on process improvement opportunities with the production managers and supervisors.
  
• Work with team members and Supervisors to address concerns or questions with work-related issues. Collect information pertaining to any investigations. Escalate to the HR Assistant Manager and/or HR Manager.
• Work with team members and Supervisors to address absenteeism concerns and issue early levels of progressive discipline.
  
• Enroll and educate team members on Cooper Farms Health Insurance, Short-Term Disability programs, submit changes as needed and provide follow-up and feedback as needed.
  
• Maintain all department team members' files.
  
• Responsible for assigned specialized HR functions.

Requirements

• Associate's degree in Human Resources or related field.
• A minimum of two years' experience in Human Resources is preferred.
• Strong judgement and decision-making skills, excellent oral and communication skills, human relations skills, and strong organizational skills.
• Must be knowledgeable and current in all labor and employment laws and regulations as well as Cooper Farms policies
• Must be acquainted and proficient with Microsoft Office programs including Word, Excel, and Power Point
