Qualifications

  • 1-3 years HR experience in a multi-state environment.
  • Experience managing off-site/field employees preferred.
  • Knowledge of ERISA, ADEA, COBRA, and employment regulations.

HR Business Partner - Northeast/Midwest Region

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Human Resources team of UtiliQuest, LLC as a Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP).

UtiliQuest is seeking a dynamic field human resources professional to partner with field operations Directors, Managers, and Supervisors in our offices in the Northeast/Midwest region. The HRBP reports directly to the Manager, Human Resources and plays a critical role in supporting teams and employees throughout the Region. You must be highly organized, able to prioritize multiple tasks, and support clients while managing your time efficiently. The successful candidate must have strong influencing skills and be willing to deeply engage with field operations in a construction environment to shape and drive cultural change.

Our HR team supports employees company-wide and holds high standards and expectations. It is key that you are a self-motivated professional with strong work ethic, organizational and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work well collaboratively.

What you'll do as an HR Business Partner

  • Serve as a point of contact for employees on HR matters
  • Investigate employee relations concerns confidentially
  • Identify employee strengths and advise managers to maximize results
  • Communicate professionally and collaborate effectively at all levels
  • Operate with integrity and respect
  • Interact effectively across the organization, with sound decision-making
  • Be highly organized, efficient, and goal-oriented
  • Maintain knowledge of employment law
  • Manage leave programs (FMLA, Workers’ Comp, etc.)
  • Assist hiring managers with recruitment needs
  • Draft and post job listings, attend job fairs, and partner with community organizations
  • Use applicant tracking systems for recruitment and candidate management
  • Screen candidates and assist with interviews
  • Coordinate background checks and drug screens

Required skills for success:

  • Must be 18 or older
  • Authorized to work in the US
  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, or related field
  • 1-3 years HR experience in a multi-state, multi-unit environment, preferably with field employees
  • Experience managing off-site/field employees preferred
  • PHR or SHRM-CP certification preferred
  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable MVR
  • Knowledge of ERISA, ADEA, COBRA, and employment regulations
  • Experience with HRIS systems (UKG, iCIMS preferred)
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and goal-focused
  • High integrity and respectfulness
  • Ability to understand business units and build trust as a partner

Physical abilities & exposures

  • Work in office, travel, and remote environments
  • Stand, walk, sit for extended periods
  • Travel 25-75% by car, air, train
  • Lift up to 15 lbs and carry materials during travel

Salary Range: $67,000 - $75,000 per year
