Job summary

Lilly in Lebanon, Indiana is seeking a Process Engineer to support the pilot plant with a focus on small molecule Kilo Lab and HPAPI operations. The role involves designing, operating, and optimizing kilo-scale reactors, containment systems, and associated unit operations within a GMP environment.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in chemical engineering with 1–4 years pharma API process experience.
• Authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis; Lilly will not sponsor work visas.
• Experience with kilo-scale equipment and scale-up factors including kinetics, mass transfer, and heat transfer.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills for a diverse audience.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate scale-up feasibility and rig fit for new chemistries by analyzing technical data and modeling.
• Design, test and install new equipment to meet evolving portfolio and reaction needs.
• Operate and troubleshoot kilo-scale reactor systems and associated equipment.
• Develop containment and safe-handling strategies for HPAPI operations and isolator systems.
• Optimize crystallization, distillation, extraction, and isolation unit operations; manage impurity fate.
