Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a BAS Controls Engineer for an on-site role in Houston. You will design, configure, and commission complete building control systems, including fire, security, and low voltage subsystems, ensuring project requirements are met.

You will develop software, prepare submittals, coordinate drawings, and collaborate with field teams. Travel to site is required to support commissioning and training, with a focus on safety and quality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering and minimum 3 years' experience.
• Knowledge of the construction or HVAC industry.
• Knowledge of control theory, automatic temperature controls, building automation systems and other building subsystems.
• Experience with JCI software programming.
• Demonstrated integration of low voltage building subsystems using LON, BACnet, etc.

Responsibilities

• Design, configuration, and operation of complete building control systems including fire, security, and other low voltage subsystems.
• Develop and test software programs to operate the system per project requirements.
• Provide detailed information and submittals to communicate design and operation to customers and teams.
• Create drawings and equipment schedules for submittals and installation; coordinate schedules and materials.
• Assist in loading, commissioning, training, and site validation to ensure system functionality.
