Job summary

Johnson Controls in Houston is seeking an on-site engineer to design, configure, and operate complete building control systems including fire, security, and other subsystems. You will support field teams with detailed submittals, flow diagrams, and software programs to ensure reliable operation of the control system.

Travel is required. The role demands a Bachelor’s in engineering, 3+ years’ experience in HVAC or construction, and hands-on skills with building automation and industry protocols.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering is required.
• Knowledge of construction or HVAC industry is essential.
• Experience with control theory and building automation systems is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design, configure, and operate building control systems (fire, security, low voltage subsystems).
• Develop software, commissioning, and troubleshooting to ensure proper operations.
• Provide submittals and communication to customers, consultants, and field teams.
• Coordinate drawings, equipment schedules, and material orders for projects.
• Assist in site training and handover with owner/operators.
