Job summary

Good Shepherd Centres is seeking a dedicated Housing Support Worker to provide housing-focused services, crisis intervention, and client advocacy. The role involves case management for residents and non-residents, eviction prevention, and collaboration with community partners.

Responsibilities include assessments, program intakes, home visits, and attendance at Landlord and Tenant Board hearings as needed. Strong interpersonal skills and trauma-informed practice are essential.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education in Social Service or related field is required.
• Experience in housing, tenants’ rights, or social services is preferred.
• Ability to work with youth, women, and families facing homelessness or instability.

Responsibilities

• Housing-focused short-term case management and eviction prevention.
• Provide eviction prevention services to at-risk youth, women and families.
• Advocate and educate about the Residential Tenancies Act and tenants’ rights.
• Support housing stability and prevent future housing loss.
• Assist in creating client-centered housing plans and attend hearings as needed.
• Answer phones, assess eligibility, conduct intakes, visit clients in homes and community settings.
