Vesta Management Corporation is seeking an experienced Affordable Housing Recertification Specialist to support Windham Heights Apartments in Willimantic, CT. You will manage annual and interim recertifications for LIHTC, Section 8/HUD, and HOME programs, verifying income and household data with strong attention to detail.

The role requires 1–3 years in affordable housing/compliance, familiarity with Yardi or other PM software, and a customer-service mindset.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; 1-3 years in affordable housing compliance or related admin role.
• COS, TCS/C3P or NCP certification preferred but not required.
• Experience with LIHTC, Section 8/HUD, HOME or similar programs is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage annual, interim, and initial certifications/recertifications per program rules.
• Verify income, assets, and household composition using third-party methods.
• Prepare and send recertification notices within required timelines.
• Audit resident files for accuracy before submission.
• Calculate rent and utility allowances based on verified income.
• Maintain compliant resident files and update data in management software.
• Communicate documentation requirements and deadlines to residents.
• Coordinate with Property Managers and Compliance staff to resolve issues.
• Track recertification calendars to avoid compliance lapses.
• Prepare files for audits and regulatory inspections.
