Job summary

Vesta Management is hiring an Affordable Housing Recertification Specialist to support Windham Heights Apartments in Willimantic, CT, with travel to eastern MA communities. Primary duties include processing annual and interim income recertifications for LIHTC, Section 8, HOME, and related programs, and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.

The role requires attention to detail, knowledge of income verification, and familiarity with Yardi or similar software.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1–3 years in affordable housing compliance or related administrative role.
• COS, TCS/C3P, or NCP certification preferred.
• Successful background check and drug screening required.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Process annual, interim, and initial certifications/recertifications per program guidelines (LIHTC, Section 8, HUD Multifamily, HOME).
• Collect, verify, and calculate resident income, assets, and household composition.
• Prepare and distribute recertification notices within required timelines.
• Review and audit resident files for accuracy and completeness before submission.
• Calculate rent and utility allowances based on verified income.
• Maintain accurate resident files per program requirements and company standards.
• Enter and update resident data in Yardi or other software.
• Communicate with residents about required docs and deadlines.
• Coordinate with Property Managers to resolve discrepancies.
