Job summary

Vesta Management is recruiting an experienced Affordable Housing Recertification Specialist to support operations for a large affordable housing community in the Manchester/Hartford, CT area. If you have LIHTC/Section 8 experience, strong attention to detail, and a customer-service mindset, we want to hear from you.

The role focuses on managing annual and interim income recertifications, verifying resident eligibility, and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of income/asset verification and calculation methods.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Preferred: COS/TCS/NCP certifications or experience in LIHTC/HUD Section 8 programs.

Responsibilities

• Process annual, interim, and initial certifications/recertifications for LIHTC, Section 8, HUD Multifamily, HOME, and related programs.
• Verify income, assets, and household composition using third-party verification methods.
• Prepare and distribute recertification notices within required timeframes.
• Review resident files for accuracy and completeness prior to submission.
• Calculate rent and utility allowances based on verified income.
• Maintain compliant resident files and update data in Yardi or similar software.
