Job summary

St. Vincent de Paul CARES seeks a Housing Specialist I in St. Petersburg, FL. You will help eligible clients locate affordable housing, work with landlords, and manage housing documentation and inspections.

The role requires strong communication, English proficiency, and the ability to coordinate with multiple agencies. A valid Florida driver’s license and carrying out mission-driven service are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in social work or related field.
• Minimum 2 years experience serving homeless or at-risk families/individuals in crisis.
• Valid Florida driver’s license if driving an agency vehicle or personal vehicle for company business.

Responsibilities

• Identify and engage landlords to develop affordable housing stock for RRH program.
• Assist eligible families in locating and renting housing and financing arrangements.
• Maintain linkage between Agency, landlord and client.
• Develop and maintain a housing stock database/listing for clients.
• Coordinate and/or perform housing inspections.
• Refer clients to other agencies for housing issues.
