Job summary

MMS Group seeks a Recertification/Compliance Specialist for a 305-unit property in Newark, NJ. You will qualify residents for occupancy, collect data, calculate income and rent, and coordinate with Compliance for approvals. Strong organizational and communications skills are essential.

Role includes office tasks and social media support, with a focus on accuracy, confidentiality, and regulatory compliance in a busy property management setting.

Qualifications

• Three+ years of low-income, senior, or housing-related programs experience.
• Associate degree in Marketing and/or Business preferred.
• COS, TCS, MORS, BOS, CMH, or AHM certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain Waiting List: Keep the property waiting list current.
• Applicant Interviews: Conduct interviews with applicants and determine eligibility.
• Data Collection: Coordinate on-site data collection and process resident information.
• Income and Rent Calculation: Ensure accurate calculation of income, assets, and rent levels.
• Compliance Approval: Seek and obtain Compliance Department approval for new move-ins and selected recertifications.
• Move-In/Move-Out Coordination: Collaborate with maintenance staff for timely moves.
• Apartment Inspections: Coordinate apartment inspections for recertifications.
• File Maintenance: Maintain resident files per policies.
• Office Assistance: Assist with social media marketing and other tasks.
