Job summary

The Salvation Army USA Western Territory - Cascade Division is seeking a Housing Advocate for the Women’s Housing Collaborative in Portland, OR. The role focuses on case management, advocacy, and securing housing for survivors of domestic violence through trauma-informed care.

You will screen for eligibility, coordinate with landlords, maintain documentation, and work with the advocacy team to support clients across multiple services. The position is full-time and pays an hourly wage.

Qualifications

• BA/BS in Human Services preferred; relevant experience considered.
• Experience in social services with vulnerable populations and/or trauma survivors.
• Knowledge of trauma-informed care and crisis intervention.
• Excel proficiency and basic database reporting experience.
• Ability to work with diverse populations and maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Write case management plans and provide advocacy for WHC participants.
• Develop plans with participants to improve safety, self-sufficiency, and housing stability.
• Maintain client files and rental/assistance documentation.
• Meet regularly with participants and coordinate with external agencies.
• Provide information/referral and participate in community forums.
