Job summary

The Salvation Army USA Western Territory is seeking an Outreach & Engagement Specialist 1 to assist individuals experiencing housing crises in King County, Seattle area. This role conducts in-vehicle outreach, links clients to housing resources, and collaborates with community organizations to secure housing.

Responsibilities include case management for clients with varying impairments, coordinating services with mental health and employment agencies, and maintaining HMIS records.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in social work or similar or 2+ years of relevant experience required.
• 2 years of demonstrated experience in related social services.
• Experience with Coordinated Entry for All (CEA), Rapid Re-Housing (RRH), and partner human services agencies preferred.
• Experience involving human relations, trauma-informed care, community building, motivational interviewing, networking, and resourcing building.
• Experience with HMIS entries, exits, and reporting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Outreach: regularly seek out clients living in vehicles in the territory.
• Maintain contact with clients during housing assessment and readiness plan.
• Provide intensive housing assistance through referrals and advocacy to apartment managers.
