Job summary

The Rescue Mission in Tacoma seeks an Outreach Specialist to engage unhoused neighbors, assess needs, and connect them to resources including the Coordinated Entry system. You will support barrier reduction and work with partners to foster pathways to housing.

Responsibilities include progressive engagement, accurate documentation, and safe transportation of clients. A valid driver’s license and case-management experience are preferred, with bilingual English/Spanish helpful.

Qualifications

• Case management experience preferred.
• Experience working in Coordinated Entry (CE) and HMIS preferred.
• Understanding of trauma-informed care and maintaining professional boundaries.
• Strong written, verbal, and electronic communication with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Meets clients to assist them through progressive engagement and a strengths-based approach.
• Collaborates with team and networks with partners.
• Assesses housing barriers and helps brainstorm options for alternatives.
• Supports clients in achieving goals and navigating service systems (CE, HMIS).
• Completes documentation and reports with confidentiality and accuracy.
