Job summary

The Salvation Army Southern California is seeking an Outreach & Engagement Specialist 1 (OES1) in Seattle, WA to serve housing-challenged individuals living in their vehicles. This in-person, full-time role focuses on housing attainment, assessing barriers, and linking clients to community resources while building connections with local groups.

You will conduct regular field visits, coordinate with partner agencies, maintain HMIS records, and participate in trainings.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in social work or similar or 2+ years of relevant experience required.
• 2 years of demonstrated experience in related social services.
• Experience with and understanding of Coordinated Entry for All (CEA), Rapid Re-Housing (RRH), and city, county, and other partner human services agencies preferred.
• Experience involving human relations, trauma-informed care, community building, motivational interviewing, networking, and resourcing building.
• Experience with HMIS entries, exits, and reporting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Regularly seek out clients living in their vehicles in the territory served.
• Coordinate services with other agencies for mental health, employment security, substance abuse, vocational rehabilitation, and related services.
• Maintain client case records on HMIS and WellSky, as well as required forms and reports in the prescribed format.
• Track, analyze, and input data relevant to county, donor, and internal stakeholders.
• Participate in unit staff meetings and applicable trainings as assigned.
