Job summary

Omni Hotels & Resorts in Chicago is seeking an Assistant Director of Housekeeping to assist in managing all housekeeping and laundry functions. This role acts as the department’s second-in-command and assumes leadership when the Executive Director is absent, driving service standards and operational excellence.

The position requires hands-on leadership across multiple shifts, a track record of improving guest satisfaction, and the ability to coach staff, manage payroll, and maintain inventory

Qualifications

• Two years of housekeeping management experience.
• Experience overseeing guestrooms, public areas, and Laundry operations.
• Strong scheduling, labor management, payroll, and cost controls.
• Ability to lead and develop teams across multiple shifts.
• Excellent communication, organizational, coaching, and conflict-resolution skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the daily operation and leadership of Housekeeping and Laundry departments.
• Ensure guestrooms, public areas, laundry operations, and back-of-house areas meet Omni Hotels standards.
• Oversee staffing, room readiness, laundry production, inspections, and projects.
• Provide direction, coaching, and accountability to staff.
• Maintain a motivated team focused on exceptional service and cleanliness.
• Monitor productivity, payroll, turnover, quality results, guest feedback, and operating expenses.
• Control labor costs and work toward payroll and productivity targets.
• Collaborate with Front Office, Engineering, Human Resources, Purchasing, Accounting, and other departments to resolve issues.
