Job summary

Viceroy Chicago seeks an Assistant Director of Housekeeping to lead the department with attentiveness, efficiency, and guest-focused service. You will manage training, schedules, and quality standards to ensure a clean, safe environment and optimal guest experience.

The role requires supervisory experience, strong communication, and the ability to coordinate large turns and VIP rooms while controlling costs and maintaining Highgate SOP-aligned practices.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of progressive experience in a hotel or related field, or a 4-year college degree, or 2-year degree with related experience.
• Supervisory experience is required.
• Proficient in Windows, company-approved spreadsheets and word processing.
• Long hours may be required.
• Medium work with lifting up to 50 pounds; frequent 20 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a regularly scheduled cleaning program and detailed checklists for each position.
• Respond to guest requests, problems, complaints and incidents promptly and courteously; follow up for guest satisfaction.
• Motivate, coach, counsel and discipline housekeeping staff per SOPs.
• Ensure compliance with training standards and safety/risk management policies.
• Balance and verify room status nightly and resolve discrepancies.
• Conduct housekeeping interviews and participate in hiring procedures.
