Job summary

Hotel Chicago Downtown, Autograph Collection in Chicago seeks an experienced Housekeeping Manager to lead housekeeping and laundry operations, ensuring guest rooms, meeting spaces, and public areas meet the highest standards through effective staffing, training, and supervision.

The role includes budgeting, labor scheduling, vendor and inventory controls, and collaboration with other departments to maintain service quality and safety, with a focus on guest satisfaction and compliance with hotel

Qualifications

• 5+ years management experience, with at least 3 years in housekeeping management.
• Experience managing in-house operated laundry operations.
• Thorough knowledge of all housekeeping and laundry operations and individual job requirements.
• Ability to work with other department leaders and resolve conflicts.
• Strong organizational, verbal and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of hotel operations including safety, budgeting and planning.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and monitor staff workload to ensure cleanliness standards.
• Develop housekeeping and laundry budget and cost controls.
• Conduct periodic inventory of supplies and equipment.
• Schedule labor to match occupancy and events.
• Interview, hire, train, and evaluate staff; discipline when needed.
• Communicate directions clearly to staff and interact with guests.
• Maintain condition of furnishings and coordinate preventive maintenance.
• Ensure compliance with SOPs and OSHA guidelines; attend to safety.
• Attend to attendance and perform other duties as assigned.
